Calculations are checked and updated monthly via an automated verification system. That said, tax rates, grant amounts, and scheme rules change. Always verify critical numbers with a qualified professional before making financial decisions. The tools are educational, not financial advice.

Completely free for first home buyers. No email required, no sales calls, no hidden paywalls. There is no advertising and no sponsored content on the site. From time to time we may invite optional Ko-fi donations, and white-label licensing for industry professionals is in development. No. Unpack Property is a software engineer's project, not a financial services business. The tools help you understand options and do calculations, but they don't recommend specific products or tell you what to do. For actual financial advice about your situation, speak with a qualified mortgage broker, financial adviser, or accountant.

You don't have to. Different calculators use different assumptions and data, so results can differ. Use more than one source to cross-check important numbers before making decisions.

We never sell your information or share it for marketing. To run the site we use a few service providers, some of them overseas: one sends our emails, one stores newsletter sign-ups and briefly keeps IP addresses to stop spam, and one hosts the site. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity also help us see how the site is used. The exact numbers you type into a calculator stay in your browser and never reach our servers. If analytics is on, only broad ranges are sent (for example an income band). See our Privacy Policy for the full list.

Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it once and you're removed. If that doesn't work, email hello@unpackproperty.com.au and we'll remove you manually within 24 hours.

Email privacy@unpackproperty.com.au with the subject line "Access request", "Correction request", or "Deletion request". We respond within 30 days. Most of what we hold about visitors is a newsletter email (see the Privacy Policy for the rest), and the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email deletes it immediately. European Union and UK visitors should use the same address with subject "GDPR request" - we respond within one month.
